Maria Dolores Lamas
Board Director
Maria is a linguist by nature and training, but chose the financial industry for her professional career. She looks back on 30 years across Private Banking, Investment Banking and Asset Management.
She dedicated 23 years to Credit Suisse in Zurich, where she was a Managing Director and Global Head of Financial Products and Investment Advisory. She was also the organiser of the Credit Suisse Thought Leadership Conference, an event that hosted some of the most inspiring, innovative, disruptive and provocative thinkers.
Her true passion, Impact Investing and Development Finance, took her to join responsAbility Investments, an asset manager and true innovator in the field of investing for impact, where she was the Head of Wealth Managers and Private Clients.
Convinced that the traditional financial industry needed to modify its approach to investing and serving clients, she joined the largest Swiss Private Bank, Julius Baer, as a Managing Director and Head of Investment Consulting and Acquisition.
She now lives between Switzerland and her native Galicia, in Spain, where she founded a company, has a guest house and is working on her project to convert it into an Impact Hub, a platform to support initiatives and corporations on gender equality, social justice and sustainability.
Maria started playing handball as a child and played in the Swiss League for many years. She feels strongly about the important and inclusive role of sport in the development of children.
